Washington’s Perspective on U.S.-China Trade

28 Mar 2012 1:23 PM | Programs WTCSD (Administrator)

Craig Allen, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia, visited San Diego from March 15-16, 2012. His visit included an informal roundtable discussion at WORLD TRADE CENTER San Diego (WTCSD) on Thursday, March 15, 2012. The topic discussed was, “Washington’s Perspective on U.S.-China Trade.”

With twenty-seven years of international trade experience, Mr. Allen was qualified to speak on a variety of topics. Mr. Allen mainly talked about IPR, investment, and government procurement. He encouraged American companies to take advantage of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s local resources in China, such as the U.S. foreign commercial service offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Shenyang.

The roundtable was a successful event and Mr. Allen was well received by participants. Asia Desk at WTCSD looks forward to hosting more roundtable discussions in the future.
